Objective
Through this program, the
East Greenbush Fire Company provides scholarship grants to
qualified applicants seeking
to advance their education in their chosen field of study.
Tuition assistance is offered
based upon merit to individuals pursuing higher education
(full or part-time) at an
accredited institution of higher education. The East Greenbush
Fire Company recognizes the
professional diversity represented within the emergency services
membership and the community
which it protects and the value of encouraging it’s
continuance. Therefore, all
applicants meeting the eligibility requirements and enrolled
in a matriculated college level
program will be considered for a scholarship award.
Greenbush Fire Company and
all current residents of the service area protected by the East
Greenbush Fire Company.
Awards will be made to high school seniors pursuing a higher education and
those individuals who are currently enrolled (full or part time), attending
junior colleges, four year colleges or universities and working toward an associates,
bachelors or graduate degree.
1) The number of scholarships available and the amount of
each scholarship is determined on a yearly basis by the East Greenbush Fire Company.
The Fire Company reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships awarded
each year.
2) A maximum of $1,000 will be awarded per scholarship
3) No more than one scholarship will be granted per
family per year
4) Scholarship is to be applied against tuition
5) In the event the tuition for the course or program
selected is less than the amount of the scholarship, the amount of the
scholarship is limited to tuition cost. No claim can be made against the East
Greenbush Fire Company or the college for the remaining scholarship amount.
6) Recipient must agree to return to the East Greenbush
Fire Company an amount equal to the East Greenbush Fire Company’s scholarship
award should he/she withdraw from the matriculated program chosen prior to the
formal completion of such program.
7) Recipient must agree to submit to the East Greenbush
Fire Company an official high school transcript at the completion of their
senior year for which a tuition scholarship will be awarded.
8) Recipient must agree to submit to the East Greenbush
Fire Company an official college transcript at the end of each semester for
which a tuition scholarship was awarded.
9) Recipient can attend a junior college or a four year
college or university, working toward an Associates degree, Bachelors degree, Masters
degree or Doctorate degree.
