6/29/2012 Clinton Heights Mutual Aid Structure Fire by Capt. Greg Forgea.
At approximately 1750 hrs. on June 29th. Clinton Heights Fire Department was dispatched for a working fire with possible entrapment. Police arrived and confirmed a working fire and that the subject was removed from the house and in need of Ems. CHFD car 3 arrived and took command, requesting FAST from Defreestville and an engine from East Greenbush. Engine company 8-5 arrived, secured a water source and stretched two 1-3/4 lines into the structure. EGFD car 4 arrived and assisted crews stretching in and completed a 360 of the structure.
Engine company 11-9 went enroute and was instructed to secure a second water source and lay into the scene. At that time truck 11 was requested to the scene as the primary truck company.
Engine 9 went interior to assist with fire attack and assist the first in crew of 8-5. Truck 11 went to the roof to open a hole for ventilation and laddered all four sides with 135ft of ground ladders. After that vent crews went in and pulled ceilings finding that heavy fire had hold of the attic space. Crews operated handlines while opening up and knocking down hot spots.

Multiple departments moved on this multiple alarm fire due to the high heat. Great job by all of the CHFD members for a great stop on a well advanced fire. Thanks to the Best Luther Fire Department and the Wyantskill Fire Department for their coverage.
