At approximately 7:15am the EGFD was transmitted for a reported structure at a single family
residence located on Marble Road. EGFD Car 4 arrived and observed what appeared to be an
electrical fire with visible fire showing from an exterior power meter. Engine 7 arrived
shortly thereafter with a 6 man crew under the helm of Captain M. Benson Jr., and received
word from the EGPD Police Sergeant on scene that there was a heavy smoke condition developing
inside of the two-car garage.
A quick knock down was made by Engine 7's crew as Truck 11 arrived. Ventilation was conducted
by Truck 11's crew along with the crew from Engine 9. A signal 20 was transmitted by Command
Officer EGFD Car 4, B. Lehmann. The fire was contained to the two-car garage.
A wall was opened in the upstairs bedroom by Engine 9's crew; however the fire was minimized
to only 2 feet above the downstairs panel box which was located in the garage. Crews operated
on scene for approximately less than one hour. Car 4 operated on scene with 14 members manning
two Engine Companies and a Truck Company.
