Today, at the Clinton Heights Fire Department in East Greenbush, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer
expressed his gratitude to the selfless men and women of the Clinton Heights, East Greenbush,
Melrose and Poestenkill Fire Departments. Volunteers from these fire departments responded to
Long Island before, during and after Superstorm Sandy. Following a tour of the Clinton Heights
Fire Department, Schumer presented each of these fire departments with an American flag
flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of their commitment to helping all New Yorkers and
to thank them for their service during this holiday week.
