At approximately 0920 on Friday 12/21 the East Greenbush Fire Department was dispatched to a
building collapse at Goff Middle school located on Gilligan Road. Engine 8 along with cars 1
and 4 responded immediately as they were just finishing with another call on the North end of

Orders to deploy crews from Rensselaer County to Nassau County for Hurricane

At approximately 1330 hours the East Greenbush Fire department was alerted for a reported shed
fire in a residential area. Cars 1 and 2 responded and had a column of smoke visible from the
Turnpike. Engine 7 under the command of Lt. Becker arrived first and confirmed a well [...]
10/20/2012 Structure Fire Columbia Turnpike Schodack Center
At approximately 1246hrs the EGFD was transmitted for a reported structure fire at a commercial
structure on Columbia Turnpike. CHFD was also transmitted on the alarm with Truck 8 as the
acting Truck 11. Engine 7 with a five man crew arrived under the helm of Capt. M. Benson Jr.[...]
At approximately 7:15am the EGFD was transmitted for a reported structure at a single family
residence located on Marble Road. EGFD Car 4 arrived and observed what appeared to be an
electrical fire with visible fire showing from an exterior power meter. Engine 7 arrived [...]
At approximately 1941hrs the East Greenbush Communications Center received several calls
for a reported house on fire in the area of the end of Start Avenue. Upon arrival by members
from the EGPD and EGFD it was discovered that an abandoned farm house was on fire.[...]
8/12/2012 Miller Rd. Car Accident by Capt Mike Benson Jr.
On August 12th at approximately 1618hrs the EGFD was transmitted for a traffic accident at the
intersection of Miller Road. Rescue 11 with a full crew under the helm of Capt. M. Benson Jr.
arrived and found a head on collision. The occupants of the vehicle were not trapped and only
one operator had a very minor injury. Car 1 and Car 3 supplied traffic control with members from
the Fire Police Squad. Units operated on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
8/3/2012 Miller Rd. Car Rollover by Capt Mike Benson Jr.
On August 3rd at approximately 2210hrs the EGFD was transmitted for a traffic accident with entrapment on
Miller Road. Car 4 arrived moments after the alarm and found an Infiniti 4DSD rolled over on its side with
the lone occupant trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 11 with a 3 man crew under the helm of
Captain M. Benson Jr. arrived and performed a brief extrication along with a 3 man crew from Engine 8
under the helm of Lieutenant Sullivan. The lone occupant was removed from the vehicle and transported to
a local hospital. Units operated on scene for approximately 1 hour. Units on scene were Car 4, Rescue 11,
Engine 8, and the Fire Police Squad.

7/1/2012 City of Rensselaer Mutual Aid Structure Fire by Capt Mike Benson Jr.
At approximately 16:30hrs, the East Greenbush Fire Department was transmitted for a mutual aid fire in
the city of Rensselaer on Aiken Avenue on a 85 degree hot and humid day. A second alarm was transmitted
by Rensselaer FD Car 1 which brought Engine 8 to Rensselaer's North Station for a cover assignment, [...]
