Orders to deploy crews from Rensselaer County to Nassau County for Hurricane
Sandy disaster relief. The deployment which included EGFD and Center Brunswick FD
were ordered to arrive in Westbury, NY by 0800 hours on Wednesday, November 14,

8/12/2012 Miller Rd. Car Accident by Capt Mike Benson Jr.
        On August 12th at approximately 1618hrs the EGFD was transmitted for a traffic accident at the intersection of Miller Road. Rescue 11 with a full crew under the helm of Capt. M. Benson Jr. arrived and found a head on collision. The occupants of the vehicle were not trapped and only one operator had a very minor injury. Car 1 and Car 3 supplied traffic control with members from the Fire Police Squad. Units operated on scene for approximately 45 minutes.


8/3/2012 Miller Rd. Car Rollover by Capt Mike Benson Jr.
        On August 3rd at approximately 2210hrs the EGFD was transmitted for a traffic accident with entrapment on Miller Road. Car 4 arrived moments after the alarm and found an Infiniti 4DSD rolled over on its side with the lone occupant trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 11 with a 3 man crew under the helm of Captain M. Benson Jr. arrived and performed a brief extrication along with a 3 man crew from Engine 8 under the helm of Lieutenant Sullivan. The lone occupant was removed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. Units operated on scene for approximately 1 hour. Units on scene were Car 4, Rescue 11, Engine 8, and the Fire Police Squad.

7/1/2012 City of Rensselaer Mutual Aid Structure Fire by Capt Mike Benson Jr.
        At approximately 16:30hrs, the East Greenbush Fire Department was transmitted for a mutual aid fire in the city of Rensselaer on Aiken Avenue on a 85 degree hot and humid day.
