7/10/2015 I-90 Car Accident with fire. By Greg Forgea
At approximately 17:30 hours
the East Greenbush Fire Department was dispatched for a reported vehicle
fire at mile marker 8.5 on interstate 90. Cars 3 and 4 answered the call
and car 4 advised that he had a heavy column of smoke visible from the interstate.
Upon arrival car 4 found a single vehicle accident and the vehicle fully involved
with the lone occupant out of the vehicle requiring EMS.
Car 3 arrived and assumed I-90 command
and instructed engine 8 under the command of Captain Witko to stretch a 1-¾ attack
line. Second due engine 7 under the command of Captain Benson arrived shortly after
and also stretched a 1-¾ backup line. The fire was quickly extinguished and all
lanes of traffic were re-opened by 18:30.
