8/9/2016 Mutial Aid Structure fire in Clinton Heights. By Greg Forgea.
On August 9, at approximately 0620 hours,
the East Greenbush Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Clinton Heights Fire Department
with a working garage fire. First arriving CHFD units found a garage fire well off and began
fire suppression with a 2½ blitz fire. Members from the truck company as well as EGFD members
stretched a 1 ¾ and began knocking fire down in the rear of the structure.
Cars 3 and 4, and Engine 9 from East Greenbush
operated at the scene. East Greenbush members assisted with initial fire suppression as
well as overhaul on the fire building. An aggressive attack on the garage kept damage to
a house nearby to a minimum. Units were back in service around 8am.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
