1/6/2018 Mutual Aid Fire in City of Resselaer.

At approximately 12:57am, the East Greenbush Fire Department was alerted by the East Greenbush Emergency Communications Center for a 2nd alarm assignment in the city of Rensselaer. Rensselaer FD units upon arrival transmitted a 2nd alarm for a fire they were operating at in the upper end of the city for Box 29-02. Rensselaer Command quick requested EGFD units to the fire scene.

Engine 8 responded to the scene with a crew of six and assisted RFD with fire suppression and overhaul operations during the early morning hours in the bitter cold. Engine 7 completed the box assignment and covered the city of Rensselaer for the duration of the incident.

EGFD members in addition to the RFD, operated on scene with the Clinton Heights Fire Department, the Defreestville Fire Department, and the Wynantskill Fire Department. All EGFD units were placed back in service at 4:00am.
