8/3/2018 Mutual Aid Fire in Schodack.

At 11:10 am On Friday August 3rd, the East Greenbush Fire Dept was dispatched on a 2nd alarm to the Schodack Valley Fire District at 1402 Maple Hill Rd. where Schodack Valley, Schodack Landing, South Schodack, Nassau, and Castleton had responded for a structure fire in the roof of the building with heavy smoke and fire.

Firefighters entered the building and knocked down the kitchen fire and then extinguished the extension into the attic and roof area. 2 dogs were rescued as a result of the primary search. Over 60 firefighters operated on scene during the second alarm fire.

There was no injuries reported on scene and the two dogs are in good health. The home sustained substantial damage due to the fire. At this time the fire investigators are currently determining the cause of the fire.
