At approximately 3:15 pm Tuesday, the East Greenbush Fire Department was alerted for multiple reports of
wires down as the result of a passing severe storm. Members answered 14 calls for service ranging from alarm activations, wires down,
trees on structures, and wires down near an occupied vehicle. Crews remained on the street surveying the damage and assessing life safety hazards until 6:30pm.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported as a result of the storm. National Grid crews
were in the area almost immediately and are still operated thru the night. We would like to say a special thank you to the
Town of East Greenbush Department of Public Works, The East Greenbush Police Department as well as the Town of
East Greenbush Emergency Communications Center for all of their assistance during the storm.
Units operating during the storm were
Car 2, Car 3, Car 4, Engine 8, Engine 9, Rescue 11, Truck 11, and Utility 11.
