06/22/2018 Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Assoc. Mardi Gras Parade.
On Friday evening, June 22, 2018 the members participated in the
annual Mardi-Gras parade and the Fire Co. was awarded a 1st Place trophy for the Best Firematic theme.
6/22/2018 Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association Firefighter recognition
The East Greenbush Fire Company has been active members of
the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association since 1916. Today, Captain Mark Becker and
Firefighter Christopher Lavin were recognized by the Association for their assistance in the
rescue of fire victims at a second alarm fire in the City of Rensselaer.
We congratulate Captain Becker, Firefighter Lavin and the members from the
City of Rensselaer Fire Department, Clinton Heights Fire Department and
Defreestville Fire Department who assisted with the fire rescue and suppression efforts.
On Friday Night at approximately 8:35PM the members of the East Greenbush Fire Department were alerted by
the East Greenbush Dispatch Center for a second alarm mutual aid request for a Structure fire in the City of Rensselaer. [...]
On Saturday, April 28th, the East Greenbush Fire Company participated in the FASNY state wide program
to recruit new members into the volunteer fire service. "Volunteer fire departments need more than firefighters. You can use your skills to
benefit the volunteer fire service in a number of ways. Visit your local department to see how you can truly make a difference."
On Tuesday Night at approximately 10:15PM the members of the East Greenbush Fire Department were alerted by
Rensselaer Co. Dispatch Center for a second alarm mutual aid request for a Structure fire at 1491 1st street in the City of Rensselaer.[...]
On April 24th at 11:36 am, East Greenbush Fire Department was
dispatched to assist with a brush fire in Schodack Valley's Fire District. Upon arrival a 1-3/4 line was stretched and the fire extinguished.
As a reminder, the NYS DEC has banned all residential brush burning from March 16 through May 14 across New York State.

4/9/2018 Oakwood St. Brush Fire.
On April 9th at 4:27, East Greenbush Fire Department was
dispatched for an annoying control burn. Upon arrival a 1-3/4 line was stretched and the fire extinguished.
It is with a heavy heart we announced the untimely passing of life member, past Chief, and past Commissioner
James Van Buren. We appreciate all of Jim's contributions to the East Greenbush Fire Company and honered him at the wake and funeral. Please keep
Jim and his family in your thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by all.
During the month of March the East Greenbush Fire Company held four Fish and Chips Nights
at the Phillips Rd Banquet Hall. Thanks to all our patrons who made these nights a success.
