Members of the East Greenbush Fire District No.3 attended the 113th Annual Conference of the
New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. This year's conference was held in Syracuse, New York from June 13 to 15, 2019.
Members and interested parties of the fire service convene annually over a three-day period to learn of new innovations in the fire service,
take part in meetings, seminars and intense hands on fire training.
Past Chief Timothy Boel, nominated to become a member of the Association's Board of Directors, was
unanimously elected by his peers to this esteemed position. Accompanied by his wife Debbie and by 18 East Greenbush members,
Tim was sworn in to office by incoming President Robert P. Parese in a ceremony on Saturday, June 15.
Chief Boel had been a member of the East Greenbush Fire Company for over 40 years and
has held many leadership positions in the Fire Company and Fire District No.3. Tim is a recognized
authority in the fire service not only locally but on the state and national level.
Tim is also a New York State Fire Instructor and many new firefighters in Rensselaer County have benefitted from his training and knowledge.
