The fire was quickly extinguished with a thorough overhaul of the wall.
4/18 today, East Greenbush Fire District #3 was proud to take part in the Little League Opening Day Parade!
Engine 9, Truck 11 and Car 3 were on hand this beautiful Saturday morning to support the East Greenbush Castleton Little League and the East Greenbush Softball program as they kicked off their 2026 season in style. It’s always an honor to stand behind our community’s young athletes and celebrate the teamwork, dedication, and fun that make Little League so special.
We were also excited to be part of Healthy Kids Day, a YMCA nationwide initiative that encourages kids and families to stay active, build strong connections, and develop lifelong healthy habits. Those in attendance even got a show when one of our own joined in on the group Zumba session!
4/15 Last evening, as our volunteers were gathering for our weekly training drill, we were dispatched mutual aid to a reported structure in the Clinton Heights Fire District on Plaza Ave. Dispatchers were receiving multiple calls for the fire. CHFD crews arrived within minutes and immediately went to work conducting a search and putting water on the fire. EGFD engine 9 responded.
The fire was knocked down within minutes and crews remained on scene hitting hot spots and checking for extension.
On scene with Clinton Heights Fire District was the Defreestville Fire Department and our department. The Castleton Fire Department provided a crew for a standby and the City of Rensselaer Fire Department fire investigation unit assisted with the investigation.
